I spent ages using the default Google Docs template as a resumé:

That was until I found out about Latex and RenderCV.
RenderCV is a tool that turns a text file (called a YAML file) into a nicely formatted professional resumé automatically. Below is a snippet of my YAML file:

which gets converted into:

It’s super easy to customise your resumé as you see fit, with a ton of preconfigured templates from the community!

The cool part about it is RenderCV also outputs a bunch of formats for your resume, everything from Markdown to image files to pdfs. I find the Markdown format particularly convenient for giving LLMs context about me.
