below is my very first blog post, originally published on Buttondown. After blogging about becoming a producer, I immediately stopped writing for 2 months. Hope you guys enjoy!!

I have decided to (finally) start a blog.

There are 4 main reasons why I have decided to start now, and why I would urge others reading this to consider starting one as well. They are as follows:

  1. Building an audience helps universally across every domain.

I’m always on the lookout for skills/improvements that enhance one’s performance no matter the domain.

Take knowing how to code for example, it does not matter whether you’re a pianist or an athlete or a farmer, possessing the skill of programming allows you to scale/augment/automate/productize your profession/hobbies/interests.

Similarly, a blog helps achieve the same thing where it allows others to learn from your journey, provides an audience to sell to, and improves your overall surface area for luck!

  2. Becoming a Write, rather than a Write-not.

I want to improve my writing chops, I’ve always felt it’s an area I’ve struggled with throughout my life and hope that this blog helps me develop my skills.

Writing sharpens one’s thinking, and there are a lot of ideas and topics I’ve wanted to explore but never fully solidified my research/stances. I hope that launching this blog rectifies that and allows me to explore my passions and curiosities, and become a producer of content rather than a consumer.

  3. Connecting with people with common interests.

I’m interested in a lot of random fields and niches, and hopefully meet other cool people interested in the same things!

If you’re interested in anything tech, medicine, productivity, or learning related, please don’t hesitate at all to reach out, even if it is just to say hi :)

  4. Avoiding a bus factor of 1

I’ve learnt a lot about productivity, learning, health, and other topics and hope to impart my learnings onto everyone.

It’d be unfortunate if I were to pass away without having permanently impacted the world in some way, and this blog would at least allow my improvements and ideas to persist and hopefully inspire others someday!

As to what you guys can expect from this blog, I’m going to aim to post at least once per week, and hopefully more frequently in the future!

I will publish my biggest improvements each week, please reach out if you ever come across any improvements you’ve made or topics/ideas you’d like me to write about in general!

That’s all for now, this has taken me way longer to write than I expected, see you around!
